Whether you live far away (buy a ticket and set your Oakland security systems!) or just up the road, the Southeast is really growing in terms of amazing artists and shows. We’ve got the lowdown on a few of the Southeast’s best and most talked about museums – plan your trip today!
The High Museum of Art – People don’t typically think of art when the think of Atlanta but the High has collections ranging from neoclassical to post-modern. It’s four floors of astonishingly diverse art with a flair for the local.
Mint Museum of Art – Charlotte’s trademark museum recently moved into a shiny new space in “Uptown” giving ample room for the surrealist and craft exhibits housed here. They’re open late at least one night a month and the museum even has an on-site organic eatery.
Southeast Museum of Photography – Located in Daytona, FL, this is one of the premier museums focused on photography in the Southeast. With collections from local artists and well-knowns like Ansel Adams you’d be hard pressed to find a better photography museum in this part of the world.
